Voting Dates: October 17 – 26, 2026
Eligibility to Vote
To be eligible to vote, you must be:
- A Canadian citizen and 18 years of age or older
- A Newmarket resident, Newmarket property owner or tenant or
- Spouse of a Newmarket property owner or tenant,
- Not prohibited from voting by law, and
- On the Municipal Voters’ List
You must be on the Municipal Voters’ List in order to vote. To check if you are on the Municipal Voters List, visit https://newmarketvotes.ca/voters/voters-list/
How to Vote
- Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, Newmarket residents can vote 24 hours a day from anywhere by using any internet-connected computer, laptop, or smartphone, including limited in-person opportunities (by appointment only at the Town of Newmarket Municipal Office – 395 Mulock Drive. To make an appointment, please call the Election Helpline at 905-953-5152).
- The Election Street Team will visit the homes of voters who require at-home voting assistance to help them cast their ballot. Voters who require this service can call the Elections Office at 905-953-5152 and book an appointment with a member of the Elections Team.
- You will receive a Voter Instruction Letter by mail in early October which contains your unique Voting PIN and information to cast your ballot. If you do not receive a Voter Instruction Letter, please call the Election Helpline at 905-953-5152.
- To access your ballot, scan the QR code using a smartphone or tablet, or enter the voting website provided in your Voter Instruction Letter into your web browser.
- To begin voting, you will need to enter your Voting PIN and date of birth.
