In response to the growing need for paramedics, Tom supported the York Region budget to hire 31 new paramedics and staff and build seven additional paramedic response stations over the next 10 years.

Tom attended the Ontario government’s announcement of a $6 million investment to help York Region Paramedics create an immediate triage centre, cutting patient offload times by more than 50% so that paramedics can spend more time on the road and at people’s homes, providing the urgent health care that York Region residents need.
