Voting Dates: October 15 – 24, 2022

Eligibility to Vote

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

  • A Canadian citizen and 18 years of age or older
  • A Newmarket resident, Newmarket property owner or tenant or
  • Spouse of a Newmarket property owner or tenant,
  • Not prohibited from voting by law, and
  • On the Municipal Voters’ List

You must be on the Municipal Voters’ List in order to vote. To check if you are on the Municipal Voters List, visit https://www.voterlookup.ca

How to Vote

  • Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24, Newmarket residents can vote 24 hours a day from anywhere by using any internet-connected PC or mobile device, including limited in-person opportunities (by appointment only at the Town of Newmarket Municipal Office – 395 Mulock Drive. To make an appointment, please call the Election Helpline at 905-953-5152).
  • You will receive a Voter Instruction Letter by mail in early October which contains your unique Voting PIN and information to cast your ballot. If you do not receive a Voter Instruction Letter, please call the Election Helpline at 905-953-5152.
  • To access your ballot, visit the web address or call the telephone number indicated on the Voter Instruction Letter.
  • To begin voting, you will need to enter your Voting PIN and date of birth.
