Tom Vegh Supports Responsible Growth that Protects Neighbourhoods & Expands Housing Options

In the past term, he worked with council colleagues to:

•     Guide development along Yonge and Davis to protect established residential neighbourhoods,
•     Enable additional detached units on residential properties that meet specific regulations to increase housing supply,
•     Defer charges for rental housing, resulting in 500+ units added in 2026, with 800+ more planned.

Tom’s Priorities:

•   Keep communities safe and inclusive.
•   Expand rental housing for a growing population and downsizing seniors.
•   Oppose high-rises in established neighbourhoods.
•   Support York Region’s plan to focus growth in urban centres and protect farmland and sensitive lands.
